Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, an Mexican-American sportscaster. Her current job is with ESPN as a news anchor for SportsCenter as well as occasionally hosting SportsNation. She was hired by ESPN in 2016. She is the daughter television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins has been a bilingual since she was nine years old a useful skills that helped her get her first job as a production assistant at Univision in Miami that gave her an opportunity to work with producers of national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Her first job was as reporter for CBS St. Petersburg. CBS St. Petersburg affiliate in the following year. They eventually moved from Veracruz Mexico to Mexico City where she was born on the 22nd of November, 1985. She also has a sister. In 1992 the family left Mexico to go to the US and moved to Miami. In 1992, her parents divorced following which, in the year 1995 she married Fabio Fajardo who was the engineer for naval vessels who passed away in 2006 due to kidney cancer. She stayed in Canton Ohio with her older sister during the summer, which was the time she received an opportunity to work. Still a senior in high school but with a clear idea what she wanted to do for her life, Antonietta was able to visit the University of Mount Union to examine if it was a good fit for her goals. She was in love with the campus. They also offered the college she had always wanted. After graduating from school, she was enrolled at the college as a media studies major. Professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was a part of her class, developed a lasting relationship with her. The professor who taught her Mark Bergmann inspired her by his passion in journalism. The professor also had a profound impact on her.
